Join a Gorongosa virtual safari

Gorongosa National Park is one of a handful of African travel destinations that gave quarantined travelers a digital glimpse of the Park’s flora and fauna.

Hosted by Gorongosa Guide Manager Test Malunga, filmed by Lee Bennett, the short videos feature several of the Park’s safari guides and give Gorongosa fans a unique inside look at the rivers, lakes and lives of the Park wildlife – including buffalo, lions, birds, elephants, hippos and nyala.

While the series has ended for this year, the videos are available in English – several with Portuguese subtitles – on the Park’s YouTube page.

  1. Love your videos! I am from Alabama, USA! Dr. E. O. Wilson, a fellow Alabamian, is one of my Heros! I met him in person at a symposium in biodiversity in his honor at the University of Alabama a few years ago. I know of his association with your park!

I am a retired Auburn University biologist (B. S., Biology (Wildlife Management Option). I however had a 25 year career as a sanitarian or Public Health Environmentalist with the Alabama Department of Public Health. Upon retirement in 1995 I was in charge of programs for onsite wastewater (septic tank systems), lead-in-paint, scrap tires & a small vector control program (information primarily).

I am an Eagle Scout (Class of 1959), & was in Scouting for 25 years as a Cub, Scout, Explorer & adult leader. A heart stent & 2 back lumbar surgeries has slowed me down somewhat.

    Again thanks for your work!
