Wild Cam Gorongosa is an excellent online tool for teachers in the classroom and parents who are teaching their children at home.
The citizen science project allows participants to help identify animals in photos taken by motion-activated trail cameras. The images are eventually uploaded to an online citizen science platform for identifying animals throughout Gorongosa Park.
Some of the never-before-seen photos provide a glimpse into the lives of animals in their natural environment. Baboons, elephants, and antelope make regular appearances.
The trail cameras have collected hundreds of thousands of photos (and counting), and scientists need help identifying the animals.
The project is managed by Dr. Meredith Palmer a researcher at Princeton University with the help of Gorongosa Park staff.
