Gorongosa National Park will be well-represented at the Wildscreen Film Festival in the United Kingdom. The festival is considered to be the world’s largest festival of natural history storytelling.
Two films – “Our Gorongosa” and “Last Wild Places: Gorongosa” have both chosen for the film’s prestigious “Official Selection Programme.”
“Our Gorongosa,” produced by the Gorongosa Media Team, focuses on the people who live next to Gorongosa Park. Congratulations to James Byrne, executive producer, and Dominique Goncalves, host and presenter, and everyone else who worked for years on this film.
“Last Wild Places: Gorongosa” is a National Geographic film that shows how – after a 15 year civil war, Gorongosa National Park is now a model of successful conservation efforts, due in part to focusing on empowering and educating women.
The Wildscreen Film Festival’s goal is to gather the best photographers, filmmakers and creative professionals together with the most committed conservationists to create compelling stories about the natural world and inspire the wider public to experience it, feel part of it and protect it.
This year the festival will be held virtually October 19 – 23. Details: https://www.wildscreen.org/festival/
